Horrocks was selected by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to perform a field survey of the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) elements between Ironwood Drive and Lancaster Road on US-95 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This project aimed to develop as-constructed Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) drawings and verify that the elements were spliced correctly. Horrocks compiled the field survey data and information from the coordination efforts and produced ITS mapping in the Bentley Fiber program. Elements of this project included:

  • Obtaining and locating fiber routes, junction boxes, splice vaults, controller cabinets, termination panels, and ITS equipment

  • Coordinating with Kootenai County Sheriff and Kootenai County Dispatch to determine the type of equipment and fiber strands used in their buildings

  • Updating the as-constructed drawings and mapping any changes from the construction contract plans

  • Documenting existing hardware and infrastructure with high-resolution, Global Positioning System (GPS)-enabled data to the Bentley Fiber mapping database
